Pasifika Communities Conference

This was one of the most significant outcomes of the Talanoa Harambee project. The Pasifika Community leaders conference in 2019 was a result of a year of focus groups and meetings of Pasifika leaders, and built upon collegiality and relationships stemming from the focus groups alongside Pasifika communities in Victoria. The project officers as well as community members and partners were left with a significantly stronger understanding of the socio-economic issues facing the community and after the workshops at the conference, the community leaders attest to having a stronger capacity to lead conversations on topical issues moving forward. Community leaders from the target communities built their capacity in the area of advocacy and community organising.
