About the event

Online Discussion hosted by Community Coalition Victoria

In an effort to bring people together and listen to each other's anxieties about large world issues, Community Coalition Victoria is trailing a series of online discussions to see if they are helpful for people who are thinking about these issues and want to connect with other people who also want to deep-dive in an accessible and inclusive way. Our first session will be led by community organisers from Melbourne, Danica Meas, Nimo Hersi and Denisse Sandoval.

This first session will cover the following:

  • Understanding Climate-Induced Displacement

    • What are the primary environmental factors leading to displacement?

    • How do natural disasters, sea-level rise, and changing weather patterns contribute?

Our team acknowledges that we meet and work on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We wish to pay respect to their Elders — past, present and future — and acknowledge the important role all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people hold in community organising. CCVic is a registered charity and incorporated association operating in Australia.
