Leadership for Community Organising

We are back and excited to announce we are facilitating two Leadership for Community Organising workshops in July!


We are also pleased to announce that the training will be delivered in partnership with Multicultural Arts Victoria (MAV).



Join us for two days of learning alongside other people within a supportive and engaging community environment.


No previous community organising experience is necessary - we encourage anyone interested in organising to join, from complete beginners to people who have participated in community organising in the past.


Our sessions will be facilitated by Denisse Sandoval, Nimo Hersi, and Danica Meas.


Event details:


Beginner Workshop Date/Time: Saturday 15 July, 10am - 4pm


Learning objectives include:

  • Understanding what community organising is

  • Practicing networking meetings or One on Ones

  • Learning about different types of community relationships

  • Understanding power in societies

  • Writing your own personal narrative

Intermediate Workshop Date/Time: Saturday 29 July, 10am - 4pm


Learning objectives include:

  • Learning how to motivate community members

  • Effective negotiation for groups

  • Learning how to run an effective meeting

  • Interactive role play scenario to test new skills

Coburg Uniting Church, 19 Victoria St, Coburg VIC 3058


Both workshops will take place at Coburg Uniting Church.



We are also happy to announce that Scholarship positions (free spots) are available for people who make an income of less than $80k, First Nations people, and CALD people.
